The Town of Lovettsville is located in northern Loudoun County, just two miles south of the Potomac River. Lovettsville has been a thriving small community since it was originally settled by German immigrants in the 1730’s. Never did they own any slaves.  Then, in the early 1800’s, a local farmer named David Lovett designed the street layout and furthered our development.  Today, Lovettsville is known for its small town character, as it blends centuries of history with an exciting future.

Heather Treadwell is a JMU and FIU alumna with bachelors degrees in International Affairs, Spanish and Nursing.  As a registered nurse, she’s currently left the practice to have a baby (Devin is 2 years old), and open up this shop with her sister.  As a new local Lovettsville resident, she and her husband live with their son only 6 doors down from the store.  They love small town Living!

Kelly Zimmerman, also a JMU alumna with both  bachelors and masters degrees in Psychology, is a stay-at-home mom who’s daughter is now school age.  Although no longer functioning in the operations of the Thrifty Sisters, some of the jewelry you’ll find at the shop was made by her.
