By shopping local resale (consignment, thrift, antique, or otherwise), we consumers are contributing to a healthier self-sustaining local economy by keeping our money "in house”, while recycling unique & valuable goods that don't have to be reproduced (no chemicals in the water to dye cotton, and no extra trees cut down and turned into pulp for new books or stationary or furniture, etc.).

For us, staying local means:

· Helping Lovettsville prosper, by bringing in economic resources that could help make our town a leisure destination (at least on a small scale!);

· having our business contribute to the health and well-being of our community, and the people who live here;

· promoting the creativity and productivity of our region's businesses, producers and individuals;

· promoting an understanding & respect (& preservation) of our area’s history;

· running our business with the same values we live by in our personal lives.

Why?

· Because we believe there is no better way to “reduce, reuse and recycle”, than to purchase resale items sold in your nearby downtown area.

· Because we believe that the path to a prosperous and sustainable future for everyone is to invest in their local communities.

· Because buying local is good for Lovettsville’s economy, and buying resale is good for the planet.
